INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING SOFTWARE

These are step-by-step instructions. I hope everyone will be able to follow them, but if you have difficulties, please e-mail me and let me know what your problem is.

  1. Select an application from the list on the left. When you click it you will see a description of the program on the right.
  2. If you wish to continue, click the DOWNLOAD link.
  3. You will probably be given a choice by your browser of opening the file (running it) or saving the file. Although you can run the program straight from the Web, it is advisable to save it, so that you have a copy to install from again at a later date if necessary. Save it somewhere easy to find on your PC.
  4. A file will the download and be saved. When it has finished you can disconnect your computer from the Web.
  5. Double-click the icon for the file you saved, to run it. (A single click may suffice on an IE4 / Windows 98 system.) *WinZip self-extractor will then put the installation files for your application in a location of your choice.
  6. Finally, run the program called SETUP.EXE (it might be displayed just as SETUP). This is the installation program which puts all the files into the proper place on your computer so that the application will run correctly. The application can then be run from your Start Menu.

*Note at stage 5 newer software will automatically start to install, effectively performing stage 6 for you. You only have to agree to continue.

I hope you enjoy this software!

All these programs are free to download, install, use and distribute, provided they are only distributed in the same form in which they are found on the site (unamended self-extracting archives).
